Stylish southern beauty and Haute Hostess Founder and Designer, Elizabeth Scokin is extremely popular among Houston’s fashionistas as she makes a big appearance her line of rodeo covers from her collection.
A previous couture model, this Tennessee based founder is bringing her most recent tip-top line of glamorous rodeo covers to the luxury gift shop, Events Gifts situated at 2439 Westheimer Rd. Visitors will get an opportunity to shop for the rodeo collection today.
The inspiration for the rodeo collection, Scokin shared, originates from one of her preferred films, the 1956 western drama, Giant. Its a tribute to the Champagne Cowgirls, a purchasing group for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo’s Junior Market Steer Auction, and the female leads in the film, Elizabeth Taylor (Leslie) and Mercedes McCambridge (Liz). The two rodeo collection covers are named after them.
“I love the Champagne Cowgirls! My debut Rodeo Collection by Haute Hostess is a complete salute to them. Texas ladies understand and embody glam. They also have true grit. You know, grit and glam is a dangerously chic combination,” shared Scokin about her inspiration behind her rodeo aprons.
The Leslie cover is a double ruffle cover of gleaming rattler print sequins spotted in gold and lined in chocolate satin. It goes for $500. The Luz is a double ruffle waist cover with black boucle and red tooled stitching, lined in black satin and goes for $400.
Scokin who shared her late husband was Joe Majors, quarterback for the debut Houston Oilers football crew, is likewise president of Elizabeth Scokin Productions, a luxury fashion and special events firm known for small and high-end parties in New York, Miami, Nashville, and Atlanta, as per her website.
